Middle School was overall a great experience! I loved my teachers and most of all I learned things that I still use today. This was the time in my life that I began to write poems. A lot of my poems were written when I was consumed with issues that were going on in my life. I found that whenever I was upset I retreated to my room and began writing my poems. In school I had many teachers that wanted us to think outside of the box. I remember writing my first poetry anthology in 7th Grade. It was a binder full of poem I chose, and some poems I composed myself.
One of my fondest memories during middle school was going to Blue lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin Lake, Michigan. I received a scholarship for playing the violin two years in a row. The camp lasted two weeks; all of the campers were kept on a strict schedule. We woke up early in the morning and practiced our instruments all day. We were given 4 pieces of sheet music to practice, and memorize because at the end of the two weeks we were going to put on a concert. We also had recreational time which was a time all the campers could get together and participate in fun activities. My parents, and Grandparents sent me letters while I was gone, and I wrote them back about the experiences I was having. By the end of the two weeks I was very ready to perform for all of the parents. I was very excited and to this day I can still remember the songs we played!
