For the first year of my education I attended a Montessori school. Oak Montessori was a school that allowed its students to do a lot of hands on activities. The Second school I attended was St. Bede; I absolutely loved this school. I attended St. Bede from Kindergarten- Fourth Grade. I can remember each teacher because they all had a pretty positive impact on the reason I have always loved school. My mother began my love of reading, she read to me since before I can even remember. Reading is a fundamental of education and it is one of my favorite things to do. When I was young I always volunteered to read during class. This helped my social skills and my reading capabilities flourished. These influences have created my love of learning and my desire to teach. When I was very young I always enjoyed playing school with my younger brother. Of course I was the teacher. I always kept my workbooks from the previous school year and reused them to teach my younger brother what I learned.
In elementary school I participated in the battle of the books. This is where you read a series of books with a group from my school, and then participate in a championship match. I participated two years in a row but my team never won :( !!! It was still a great experience.
